Instructions
ShoreWright products mount one of three ways depending on the product and what's included in your box. Find your option below.
Option A
Screw Mount
RecommendedUsed on most ShoreWright holders. Stainless steel screws are included with your product.
- Hold the holder or rack arm in the desired position and mark the screw hole locations with a pencil. Most products have 2 or 4 mounting holes.
- Drill pilot holes at each mark using a 9/64" drill bit. Pilot holes prevent cracking and ensure a clean install. For fiberglass, counter sink your pilot holes before drilling to prevent chipping the gelcoat. You can also run the drill bit in reverse if a counter sink bit isn't available.
- Align the holder over the pilot holes and drive the included #10 stainless steel screws into place. Do not over-tighten.
- Test fit your remote, tackle tray, or speargun to confirm a snug, secure hold. For multi-arm racks, repeat for the second arm.
Option B
No-Drill Mount
3M Tape, Not IncludedAvailable for products with a flat back. Marine-grade mounting tape is sold separately.
- Clean the mounting surface thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and let dry completely.
- Apply 3M VHB or marine-grade mounting tape to the flat back of the holder.
- Press the holder firmly onto the surface and allow 24 hours for the adhesive to fully cure before use.
Option C
Suction Mount
Used on products that ship with industrial suction cups, like the Speargun Gunwale Rack.
To Attach
- Place the suction cup on a clean, smooth surface. Glossy gelcoat, glass, and smooth non-porous surfaces work best.
- Press down firmly so the entire rim of the suction cup sits flush against the surface.
- Pump the lever repeatedly until the colored indicator band is no longer visible.
- Repeat for any additional rack arms or mounts.
To Remove
Pull one of the tabs on top of the vacuum pad upward toward the center of the mount. This lifts the rim off the surface, breaks the seal, and releases the mount.
Pro tip: For the strongest hold, the mounting surface must be clean and dry before you set the cup.
After Installation
- Rinse with fresh water after every trip, especially in saltwater.
- Use mild soap if needed. Skip the solvents, acetone, and harsh chemicals.
- Inspect the mount before each trip. If a suction cup looks cloudy or hazy, a quick rinse with warm water (and a drop of mild dish soap if needed) usually brings it right back. Avoid alcohol, solvents, or petroleum products on the cup rubber.
